Barber and dental chairs

Servicing and repairs for chairs in professional use — where wear is daily and downtime costs money.

A chair that someone sits in a dozen or more times a day wears out at a rate no domestic piece of furniture comes close to. On top of that there are chemicals: cosmetics, disinfectants, hair dyes. The leather stiffens, cracks on the headrest and armrest, and stains soak in deep.

In a surgery or a salon, though, something else matters too: downtime. A chair out of action for a week costs more than the restoration itself, so we plan the date around your schedule, not our queue.

How we do it

  • Inspection on site or from photos, with a realistic date agreed.
  • Cleaning that takes into account disinfectant residue left in the material.
  • Filling cracks and worn areas, most often on the headrest, armrests and seat edge.
  • Re-colouring and protection with a finish that withstands frequent disinfection.

What we recommend

With two or more chairs it's worth doing them one at a time, not all at once — the practice keeps working, and the price difference is small.

If the chair is still in good condition, a yearly leather protection treatment on its own is cheaper and makes more sense. We'll tell you when that's enough instead of selling you a full restoration.

Leather Furniture — other services

Aniline and Semi-Aniline

Uncoated leathers need different chemistry and a different technique than pigmented car upholstery — otherwise the finish comes off along with the dirt.

Wear and hole repair

Wear and hole repair

Filling with repair compound and recreating the leather grain, so the repaired area doesn't stand out as a smooth patch.

Handbags and small leather goods

Worn corners, rubbed handles, scratches and faded colour. The same work as on a seat: filling the damage, recreating the grain, re-colouring and protection.

Antiquing and antiqued leather

A finish with deliberately uneven colour — for period-style furniture and interiors where an even coating would look artificial.

Send photos and we'll call you back with a quote

The quickest way is this: a photo of the whole item, a close-up of the damage and a note on what the item or part is. On that basis we'll tell you whether it can be saved and what it will cost.
